On Friday, 13 March, the International Institute for the Sociology of Law with the collaboration of the Provincial Historical Archive of Gipuzkoa will open the exhibition “Repression, Distortion and Peace.”
Over the course of the exhibition, around twenty archival pieces, visual narratives, and diverse voices come together to explore the socio-legal dimensions of war, justice, and peace.
The exhibition is the result of a collaborative effort in which both students and different institutions have actively participated. Through donations, research contributions, and the creation of original materials, they have helped assemble objects, documents, and narratives that reflect multiple perspectives on conflict, memory, and justice. Their involvement has been essential in shaping an exhibition that connects academic reflection with historical sources and lived experiences.
At the same time, we are finishing the course “War, Justice and Peacebuilding,” taught by Camilo Umaña. His course goes beyond theory, creating space for deep reflection and critical debate. As part of the programme, students will also experience the exhibition “Repression, Distortion and Peace,” an immersive exploration of conflict, memory, and justice.
We warmly invite colleagues, researchers, practitioners, and the wider community to attend and engage in dialogue.
We are very proud of how this collective initiative has developed and of the exhibition it has become. “Repression, Distortion and Peace” will be inaugurated on Friday, 13 March, and will remain open to the public until 27 March.
