NEW ! IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE LIBRARY SERVICE

We would like to inform you that in January 2026, the Sancti Spiritus building will undergo major renovation works. For one year we will relocate to the Provincial Archives of Gipuzkoa, just a short five-minute walk from the old university.

The library service will be limited during this period when the renovation works are carried out in the building of Sancti Spiritus University, but we will guarantee our users access to the collection. Although physical and direct access to the library will not be possible during the works, all users will be able to access the library's materials by prior request filling in this form. Please read the Protocol document about this process.

Library service hours will be affected. While the institute is located in the Historical Archive building, our users will be able to work in the consultation room known as “Selma Huxley Gela,” located just opposite the main entrance of the building.

IMPORTANT INFO:
The opening hours of this reading room will be Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It is important that all users leave this room by 3:00 p.m., when the room closes.

Rules in the consultation room:

• Mobile telephones must be switched off and may not be used in the reading room.
• Smoking, drinking or eating are not permitted in the Library.
• Coats, raincoats, and umbrellas shall not be taken into the consultation room, but should be left at the baggage area near the exit.
• Personal items should not be left unattended in the consultation room. The IISL shall not accept responsibility for loss or damage to such items.
