Global South Scholarship for IISL Master’s applicants

For the 2024-25 edition of the International Master’s in Sociology of Law, the IISL announces a grant opportunity that is specifically dedicated to applicants from the Global South. The deadline for grant applications, simultaneous with the IISL’s internal deadline for the first round of applications for the upcoming academic year, is 15th of March 2024.

As other grants by the IISL, this is a complementary grant which does not cover the full costs of the stay, and you will also need other financial resources. Eligibility for this grant opportunity will be assessed based on the applicant’s country of origin and country of residence, and the respective contextual information given in the application. Given limited means, eligible candidates will be ranked according to the following criteria:

• Applicants from a country in category C of the list drawn up by the International Sociological Association have funding priority, if other criteria are fulfilled (academic quality of the application; assessment of financial circumstances).
• Applicants from a country in category B are likewise eligible, if there are no similarly qualified applicants in financial needs from a country in the category C.

Applicants to the Master’s programme who consider themselves eligible for the Global South Scholarship can express their interest to be considered for this grant opportunity in the IISL’s application form for the Master’s programme. Information will be requested about the applicant’s personal financial circumstances, including current job, proof of other financial assistance received for your studies, and any other relevant financial information.
