Alicia Summers (University of Nevada) will give a lecture to the IISL Master's students, on Procedural Justice in Practice: Enhancing Parents’ Experience in the Child Welfare Court System with the Use of Parent Mentors (Tuesday, 17 December, 11:15).

This lecture reflects on the challenges parents face in the child welfare court system in the United States and the methods that have been used to enhance the process for
them. An overview of the United States’ child welfare framework and court process. This will set the stage for the discussion, providing context for the many challenges that
parents and judges face in making the process fair.
