Theory in Sociology of Law

EHU Module "Law and Social Theory"

This course is intended to offer a description of the development of socio-legal theory along the decades, with a special focus on post WW2 period. It is also intended to discuss the relationships between theory and observation, on a methodological level, under the assumption that theory orients research and observation, in its turn, contributes to confirming, correcting or confuting theoretical hypotheses. Concrete research examples and personal experiences of both the lecturer and the students themselves will turn into useful materials for reflection and cultural exchanges among the participants.
