The 2024/25 academic year of the UPV/EHU's International Master's in Sociology of Law, given by the Oñati IISL, will begin on Monday, 23 September. The new students will be welcomed by the new scientific director of the IISL, Jose M. Sauca; the former director of the Master's degree and candidate for rector of the UPV/EHU, Joxerramon Bengoetxea; the current director of the Master's degree, Iker Nabaskues; and the associate research professor of the IISL and teacher of the Master's degree Aitor Jiménez, as well as the manager and the staff of the IISL. There will be a welcome coffee at 11:30, and then, at 12:30, they will have the first day of class, with the course Legal Cultures: A Comparative Perspective, taught by Joxerramon Bengoetxea.
This course will have 15 students from 13 countries from the five continents, and most of them will be there on Monday; the rest will arrive in Oñati in the coming days. They come from the following countries: Spain, Portugal, France, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Austria, Latvia, United States, Egypt, Bangladesh, Iraq, Turkey and Australia. All of them have gone through a rigorous selection process and the quota of applications has been filled.
