Biografía: 

Stefaan Pleysier (6 June 1975) holds a Master degree in Sociology (KU Leuven, 1997), an Advanced Master in Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciences (KUB, 2003) and a PhD in Criminology (KU Leuven, 2009).

He is currently appointed as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law at KU Leuven, is director of the Leuven Institute of Criminology (LINC), and coordinates, together with Johan Put, the Research line on Youth Justice at LINC. He teaches youth criminology and juvenile justice, and research methods in the Bachelor and Master in Criminology. His main research interests include the study of youth justice and juvenile delinquency.

Stefaan Pleysier was previously a MacCormick Fellow at Edinburgh Law School at the University of Edinburgh, and in 2015 a ‘chercheur invité’ at the Centre International de Criminologie Comparée (CICC) at the Université de Montréal. He is co-editor-in-chief of Youth Justice (Sage), member of the International Advisory Board of Criminology & Criminal Justice (Sage), and member of the editorial board of the Dutch Tijdschrift voor Criminologie (Boom) and the Flemish Tijdschrift Jeugd en Kinderrechten (Larcier). Furthermore, Stefaan Pleysier is a member of the European Society of Criminology (ESC) and the thematic Working Group on Juvenile Justice of the ESC.
