The autumn issue of the IISL's newsletter is now available online. The contents include the first official letter by the new Scientific Director, Prof. Noé Cornago, who outlines the main goals and challenges for the Institute in the near future; and the RCSL-IISL Joint Congress, which is accepting papers and proposal for sessions until 10 December. There are news about the IISL's latest publications, the new academic year at the Institute, and the scholars that have visited us recently.

Today, 4 October, IISL has hosted the open seminar Beyond the usual: Law and Culture in Special Contexts. Three Examples: Inuit Customary Law and Emotionality, Deviant actors and Political Agency: the case of South Africa and the EU experiments. It has been conducted by Sean Robertson (University of Alberta), Deon Geldenhuys (University of Johannesburg) and Joxerramon Bengoetxea (UPV/EHU).
