During my recent residency at the International Institute for the Sociology of Law, I had the opportunity to return to a uniquely stimulating research environment that I first experienced three years ago. The Institute offers a rare combination of intellectual focus and collegial exchange, making it an ideal setting to complete my PhD on climate change responsibility from a sociological jurisprudential perspective.
I am deeply grateful to the Institute for awarding me a residence grant, which made this return visit possible. Balancing teaching responsibilities with research had been a challenge, and the residency provided a much-needed space to think clearly and dedicate sustained time to writing. During my stay, I was able to make significant progress on a chapter that had previously proved difficult, with both the focused environment and exchanges with others helping me to clarify its direction.
I would particularly like to acknowledge the IISL staff, whose efforts ensured that a supportive and engaging research environment was maintained throughout. I very much hope to return in the future and to continue my connection with the Institute as my career develops.
