The Institute has been on my radar for quite some time. I have always felt drawn to visit Oñati at some point in my career, given the prestige, interdisciplinarity, and unique atmosphere of the Institute, as well as the importance of the socio-legal foundations of my PhD research. The Residence Grant has been particularly helpful, allowing me to delve deeply into my work as I entered the third year of my PhD, especially in further developing one of my chapters. During my stay, I deepened the theoretical aspects of a chapter focused on a rights-based climate litigation case study. As part of my broader research, I study the role of this kind of litigation and legal mobilisation in advancing climate justice from a decolonial perspective in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Institute, the Library, and the Residence offered the ideal stimulating environment to immerse myself in this stage of my research, while being surrounded by a kind, warm, and passionate community of friends, students, and visiting scholars. Every conversation was fascinating and deeply enriching, thanks to the diverse and international character of this community. Beyond the unique academic and professional setting, the Oñati community and the genuine kindness of its people made me feel truly welcome. Their food, culture, language, and the stunning mountainous landscapes, rivers, and nature created a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere for reflection and writing. I am deeply grateful to everyone behind this Institution, who make it possible for visiting researchers to experience such a warm and generous welcome to Oñati. I hope to stay connected!
