Santiago Abel Amietta is currently a lecturer in criminology at the School of Social, Political and Global Studies, Keele University, UK. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, an MA from the Oñati International Institute for the Sociology of Law (IISL), and an LLB from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina (UNC). His research interests span the legal profession, lay participation in criminal justice, migration and integration, and state recognition of indigenous nations, with a continued regional focus on Latin America. He has held visiting positions at the UNC, the IISL, the University of Chile, and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
