Biografía:

I am Dr. Bhanu Prakash Nunna, a psychologist and academic dedicated to the fields of psychology and victimology. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor & Director, Centre for Victimological Research and Victim Assistance at RV University in India. I also currently serves as a Visiting Fellow at the Montreal Centre for International Studies, University of Montreal, Canada from December 2025-March 2026 and a Policy Research fellow at the DeMontfort University, UK. I am also a Secretary-General of the World Society of Victimology and the International Ambassador for India for the British Society of Criminology. My research interests are diverse, encompassing sexual victimization, social harm, secondary victimization, victim support training, trauma-informed victim support, and ethics in counselling. Currently, I am engaged in two research projects: one examines technology-facilitated sexual violence among university students in India, exploring its prevalence, risk, and protective factors; the other investigates the implementation of the Victim Compensation Scheme in Karnataka. These projects aim to address pressing issues in victimology and contribute to policy development. I am the Chair of the International Conference on Global Criminology and Victimology, an annual conference held in India. I have held several guest faculty positions teaching victimology and psychology in India, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. I am also a Resource Faculty member at the esteemed postgraduate courses on victimology across the globe. Throughout my career, I have been driven by a commitment to improving the lives of victims and advancing the field of victimology. My work continues to be guided by the belief that the true measure of a criminal justice system does not lie in how it punishes offenders but in how it treats and supports victims.
