I received a Residence grant to spend some time as a guest researcher in the International Institute for the Sociology of Law in Oñati. I am extremely grateful to the Institute for allowing me to stay in the ancient and quaint residence of the Institute.

During my stay I had the privilege of accessing the library at the historical building of the Institute. The impressive collection of books and journals focusing on various topics of law and social science (including  legal anthropology, cultural rights and legal cultures) contributed significantly to the elaboration on my two research articles. Besides, I was kindly invited to give a lecture about my research on legal otherness, reciprocity and cognitive limitations of the modern legal framework which took place at the fireplace hall of the residence on the last evening of my stay.  I had also numerous opportunities to engage with other guest researchers and students on topics of common interest on the soil of the Institute as well as the walks into the remarkable surroundings of Oñati. Time spent at the Institute and its library is unique and highly relevant experience for students and researchers who are interested in uncommon and noteworthy perspectives on law and society as well as the fruitful and inspiring atmosphere.

My sincere thanks go to Professor Vincenzo Ferrari for making this stay possible despite time difficulties. Last but not least, the staff at the Institute are very welcoming and helpful in all respects. I wish I could have stayed longer. I have jointed the on-line Oñati community and will pay attention to its developments.
