David Whyte is Professor of Climate Justice at the School of Law, Queen Mary, University of London where he is Director of the Centre for Climate Crime and Climate Justice. David’s research focusses on the relationship between law and corporate power.  He has researched the regulation of business in a wide range of contexts (including working conditions, institutional fraud and corruption, economies of war and conflict,  human rights violations and ecocide. His current research focusses on legal responses to climate change.  He is the author and editor of 15 books, including Drowning Capitalism (V2_Lab, 2025) Ecocide (Manchester University Press, 2020) and Corporate Human Rights Violations (Routledge, 2018).  He appears regularly on national and international media and has published numerous opinion and feature pieces in leading media outlets, such as the Guardian, Independent, The Age (Melbourne) and The Sunday Herald (Glasgow).
