My current research project is ‘horizontal censorship’. This concerns organisations restricting the socio-political speech of those they deal with. It involves jurisprudential questions, of freedom of (dis)association versus freedom of speech. It involves legal questions, of contract and property law power versus protections in anti-discrimination and labour law. And it involves contemporary social questions, like corporate branding and responses to social media outrage.
I also completed a book on The Law of Politics: Elections, Parties and Money in Australia.
Besides enjoying the wonderful welcoming and surroundings of ISIL, I have also been learning about three great traditions of Euskadi: pintxos, pilota eta politika!
