Extracurricular course - Academic and technical writing

The Academic and Technical Writing mini-course is a one-hour tutorial with general information and tips on how to write a conventionally well-structured and well-referenced academic paper or theses. Students will learn the basic skills to structure their paper and to make it attractive to a reader; the most important formal elements to make the paper more easily traceable; the importance of citing and referencing, and how to do it correctly; the basics of the house style of the IISL's journals; what Creative Commons licenses are and their purpose; and some tips on how to present a paper, thesis or assignment to a journal, or to a teacher or supervisor.
