| MASAJI CHIBA: IN MEMORIAM |
We regret to report that on 17th December past, Masaji Chiba died at the age of 90. Masaji Chiba was a great scholar, the doyen of sociology of law in Japan, and a charming and gentle man. He was part of the postwar generation of socio-legal scholars in his country, influenced by the American empirical tradition, while also always emphasising the cultural differences between his country and the west. Lamentamos comunicar que Masaji Chiba falleció el pasado 17 de diciembre, a la edad de 90 años. Masaji Chiba fue un gran académico y decano de la sociología del derecho en Japón, además de un hombre amable y encantador. Fue miembro de la generación de investigadores japoneses de sociología jurídica de la posguerra. Influenciado por la tradición empírica americana, siempre destacó las diferencias culturales existentes entre su país y los países occidentales. [+info]
