I am an MA student in the Department of Sociology at Laval University (Québec City) under the supervision of Dr. Fabrice Fernandez. In the Winter 2019 semester, I was a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto where I followed seminars on the sociology of crime and law. My master’s thesis aims to question alternative justice systems, particularly the emergence and proliferation of specialized or problem-solving courts, focusing on the implementation of the first community-based court in Québec City. My research project received financial support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Society and Culture (FRQSC).
